The purpose of this seminar is to provide an overview of Linda's handling system and hopefully provide everyone with a basic understanding of how to make it work. There will be a 3+ hour lecture/demo that will cover the "theory" and basic skills the dog must have for the system to be successful.
The next day is spent doing drills that are designed to show how to apply the system. The exercises are very basic. The purpose is NOT to perfect the skills, but to try and help everyone understand how to apply the concepts to common sequences. The intent is NOT to have each individual master each drill. Because most of the dogs won't have the foundation skills, that is not realistic. The goal is simply to give everyone an idea of how the system works.
Dogs and handlers working in these sessions must be at Excellent/Advanced level, but, of course, auditors from all levels are welcome and are highly encouraged. These seminars will focus on handling, not obstacle performance skills.
Specific needs of each individual will not be addressed as one might expect in a "regular" seminar, unless the individual is having a common problem that others might also encounter (including the auditors). In those cases, Linda will help the individual work it through to give everyone an idea of what was going wrong, why, and how to fix it.

About Jen: Around the nation, Jen Pinder is a highly sought after agility educator. Her abilities to evaluate and problem solve are some of her finest skills. Even better is her way of communicating this information to the handler and getting them to communicate better with their dog.
Jen has represented the American Kennel Club at the World Cup in Europe with Border Collie Static. She also was invited to compete at Crufts (the Worlds largest dog show) in England in 2003. She is the first American to compete at Crufts in Agility. In the USA, Jen has been competing at the highest level of agility in both USDAA and AKC. She won the 26" USDAA Nationals in 2003 with Static and has been a USDAA Finalist for the past 8 years. She has achieved this with four different dogs: Ajax (Border Collie), Static (Border Collie), Divot (Jack Russell Terrier), and Soda (Border Collie). The ability to train and compete with different styles of dogs is what helps her educate both larger dogs and small dogs alike.
Jen has taught at Say Yes as well as both Clean Run Camp and Power Paws for several years. Jen shares her life with fellow agility competitor and husband Bill in Lapeer MI.eMail Registration is preferred. To register contact Mary Ellen at mebarry@kineticdog.com.
